We created Raveller because we liked the idea of being able to go somewhere to discover new media based on recommendations of people whose opinions we respect. Our goal is for Raveller to be a place where people can come to expand their horizons in all aspects of media as well as share their opinions. In our social-media-based world, we don't see the reason for turning to generic sites for the last word regarding an album or film's worth. Instead, we just want people sharing what they like and discovering new things. Along with new album and film reviews, we hope to promote things that people may have otherwise missed out on. Below is a sample of some of the categories our posts will focus on:
Michigan Made
Michigan Made is a section of our blog dedicated to spreading good stuff that college students in Michigan produce. There are a lot of great artists right here in Michigan, some of whom will go on to be big stars and many more who will never achieve the recognition they may deserve. For the less fortunate, they can be proud to have at least been featured in the Michigan Made section on Raveller, displaying their work in all its glory for all three of our followers.
Underappreciated Albums
This section is pretty self-explanatory. We take albums that we believe have been underappreciated (or in some cases virtually unheard of) and we argue for why they're worthy of recognition. We'll throw in a few audio tracks and you can decide for yourself.
